Meet a 10collectivist (and a Meanie) – Jordan Stanley

Bebe Jaws

Spawned in sunny Queensland, Jordan – affectionately known to us as ‘Jaws’ migrated to the cooler waters of Melbourne in 1999. Joining 10collective in 2011, Jaws takes care of all things ‘office’ related, whether it be answering phones or attempting to make spreadsheets more visually appealing. When not in the office, Jaws plays guitar in the Meanies, and drums in the Onyas and the Casanovas. You’d be correct when guessing ‘Meat and Potatoes’ are his staple diet.

We challenged him to pick his favourite records to take to a Desert Island. Here’s what he came up with:

Iggy and the Stooges – Raw Power

Raw punk / rock ’n’ roll at it’s finest. Hit after hit, and drenched in attitude.

Key Song: Shake Appeal

Ramones – Anthology

Too many hits to pick just one record, so I’m cheating…hey, I’m on a desert island here!

Key Song: Rockaway Beach

Oblivians – Popular Favorites

After hearing the first couple of seconds of the opening track ‘Christina’, I was sold. Memphis punk/rock/soul genius.

Key Song: You Better Behave

Cosmic Psychos – Fifteen Years, A Million Beers

Another ‘anthology’! Arguably Australia’s greatest export. A marvelous recipe; three simple chords and three simple blokes. Great band, even greater live.

Key Song: Pub

Eddy Current Suppression Ring – Eddy Current Suppression Ring

Another amazing local band. They sound like… themselves. Genius stuff from Brendan, Danny, Brad and that other guy.

Key Song: Insufficient Funds

The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion! – Orange

I don’t ever seem to get sick of this record, so it makes the list. I’m always amused and amazed when hearing this.

Key Song: Dang

Fugazi – Fugazi / Margin Walker

Man, how do they get those sounds/write those songs/play that well?! I quit.

Key Song: Waiting Room

Amy Winehouse – Back to Black

You kinda knew this would be a classic when you first heard it, right? Yep.

Key Song: Tears Dry On Their Own
